Following the announcement that Spotify will soon no longer be available in Algoriddim's software, the company has wasted no time in packing djay with alternatives: It recently announced the addition of Tidal and SoundCloud, with today's announcement taking the choices to four.
Beatport Link has been around for a while, but Beatsource Link is the new kid on the block, having arrived on Rekordbox just a couple of weeks ago. Babyliss pro gold. Take a look at that article and the accompanying video to learn more about it, but basically both of these curated services are DJ-focused, offering an 'offline locker' facility for DJs to cache tunes locally (meaning no need for an active internet connection when DJing) and giving access to Top 100s and curated playlists.
Additionally, with Algoriddim's software, you can work on your set adding cues, loops, doing playlisting and so on across either iOS or Mac, and all will be synced when you use your software on either platform.
Subscriptions start at around $10 a month, although they go up from $20/month for offline storage and higher audio quality. Beatport Link and Beatsource Link are rapidly rolling out across the DJ world, with djay, Hercules' DJUCED, Virtual DJ and Rekordbox now covered.
What's the difference between them?
Beatport Link contains practically the whole Beatport electronic download store catalogue to stream from with its underground electronic music focus, whereas Beatsource Link is a much more major-label offering, carrying mainstream dance, pop, hip-hop, R&B, Latin and reggae/dancehall.

Native Instruments has just announced the public beta of Traktor Pro 3.5, adding music streaming to the popular DJ software, via Beatport LINK and Beatsource LINK integration.
Users get access to the full suite of Beatport and Beatsource LINK tools and functions, including:
- Access to LINK playlists, charts, DJ charts, DJ sets, and curated playlists
- The ability to add cue points, loops, and comments to tracks
- The ability to create unlimited Traktor playlists and smart playlists using Beatport or Beatsource tracks

Playback in offline mode of up to 100 tracks is coming with a second public beta version in a few weeks, Traktor tells us. Both Beatport LINK and Beatsource LINK offer subscriptions that enable this feature, although they do cost more than the basic subscriptions.
